A regular kidney stone sufferer, I found myself in the fall of 2016 at Dr Orton’s office, a new Doctor in the area with Dr Pettit. I have had kidney stone issues off and on again since I was young, and most recently having mild pain for the past year in my upper left groin area. I did have stones, but there was something else going on and the emergency room visits were leading to no success at the hospital. After x-rays and careful consideration, Dr Orton suggested that I would be a great candidate for Robotic Surgery at our local hospital. He believed that it would be easiest and less invasive for me to have robotic surgery in order to fix the area where my kidney empties into my utterer. I am happy to say he was right. Not only did he fix my kidney, during the surgery he noticed another issue down by my pelvis. Using the same areas where he entered initially, he was able to repair both issues and make no new incisions. I have 4 small scars that will soon be un-noticeable and no issues since. I was so pleased with the knowledge that Dr. Orton brought and the follow up care that he provided. He took the time to explain all the procedures to me, was gentle when the nerves got the best of me and was a frequent visitor to my hospital room post surgery.

I was very pleased with the option of having Robotic Surgery, I liked that it was minimally invasive and that I was home quickly to my family. Dr Orton’s care and knowledge were comforting and the expertise he brings to Bellingham is highly need.

Thank you.

When coming to my husband’s first visit with Dr. Pettit we were both nervous. We did not know what to expect…while we were checking in the receptionist made us both feel welcome. As we sat and waited in the exam room to see Dr. Pettit, his nurse Jenny assisted us. She was very pleasant with us. She took her time with my husband and I could see him relaxing a little bit more. Dr. Pettit came in and spoke with us and told my husband his diagnosis and what other tests were to be done. Dr. Pettit was so kind, talked slowly so we could understand. He sat across from us, kept eye contact and explained everything. On check-out, the receptionist had to schedule CT scans…she handled everything so we didn’t have to worry about it ourselves. They are all so well-organized.

We were so pleased to find such a good doctor.

Thank You!

I have been a patient of Dr. Pettit’s for 12 years. His knowledge and professionalism are characteristics that I have grown to trust and find comfort in. The support staff, whether it be front desk employees or nurses, make me feel as though I am their priority during my visit. For that I am very grateful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Pettit’s for 5 years and have seen him on 2 different occasions during that time.  Dr. Pettit has always been welcoming, professional and helpful on providing direction and comfort in getting my medical challenges corrected and back on the road to recovery.  I have always found Dr. Pettit to be prompt and willing to listen to my concerns and ease my mind if I was worrying to much regarding what could be or couldn’t be found.  I appreciate Dr. Pettit’s knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Pettit did my sons circumcision he was 5 days old. Dr. Pettit did amazing! My son healed in 6 days. The staff at the front desk are super friendly and helpful!

Everyone was very nice to me and did an excellent job of keeping me calm during the procedure. If I had to do it again I would come here… I’m glad I don’t have to go through that again!

Thanks to Dr. Pettit for helping me throughout the years. He was the only one who approached my situation with common sense.

Dr. Pettit,

I wanted to thank you for the radical prostatectomy you performed… Time will tell, but I believe you have handed me a few extra years by cutting out my aggressive cancer. We’ve known each other for years and I am remiss in not thanking you for your kind and good attitude. You are always there for me. Your efforts and abilities are most appreciated. I hardly know how to thank you, everything appears to be healing well.

Our family’s father and son came in to do a vasectomy and circumcision on the same day. Both were treated with so much care and compassion. The procedures went quickly and smoothly. What a helpful and friendly staff!

From setting up the appointment to following up, our family felt confident that we were getting the best medical care we could hope for.

Today is my 76th birthday and second anniversary of my radical prostatectomy surgery, performed by Dr. John M. Pettit, for an aggressive Stage IV cancer that spread. I have been a patient of Dr. Pettit’s for two decades. He is a competent professional who always places first the health and welfare of his patients. My condition is terminal and was apparently not affected by radiation treatment. Dr. Pettit found an androgen-blocking drug that, for now, slows the progression of the cancer and gives me additional time… We are leaving next week for Turkey and the Greek Isles, making use of this time. Dr. Pettit keeps me fully informed and presents my options in easy-to-understand language. He is up-to-date in his field of Urology and has referred me to other specialists in oncology. I have placed my life in his hands and have no reservations about recommending that others do the same. He is competent, personable, and has a good attitude which also positively affects my outlook. You are in excellent hands as his patient.
